Mrs. Mayisha Ealey-Oliver is a Denver native and Dallas-based jazz vocalist whose sound blends warmth, elegance, and soulful precision. Her love of jazz began at age 6, when she attended her first concert to see Natalie Cole. At 16 she recorded her first EP, "Tasty Treats from Mayisha." She was trained in music theory and jazz vocals by her grandfather, composer Sam E. Bivens, and her repertoire centers on timeless jazz standards, classic R&B, neo soul, and refined vocal moments that elevate any room.
Mayisha is a Spelman College graduate who sang with the Spelman Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Joseph Jennings in Atlanta, GA. She pairs the rigor of her chemical engineering education with a lifelong devotion to music, bringing rare discipline, artistry, and emotional depth to every performance.
Today, that devotion reaches from the stage to the nursery. Through Sanctuary of Songs, Mayisha writes and sings personalized a cappella lullabies for babies and toddlers: original lyrics for each child, set to a melody they already love, with a keepsake the family can hold onto. The music her grandfather passed down to her, she now sings forward to yours.
Whether she is performing in an intimate jazz club, a conference reception, or singing one child's name into a lullaby, Mayisha creates music that feels graceful, memorable, and deeply human.
